Our assesment of sports for 2009/2010 is slightly different than many others, we believe we pick winners.  NBA analysts said the 2009 Draft was “weak” at best. They said that after the Clippers selected Blake Griffin, there wouldn’t be much to go crazy for. Allen Iverson may be bouncing around in and out of retirement, but the NBA has found a suitable replacement—Brandon Jennings. This is a guy averaging nearly 22 points per game, along with five assists as a rookie. He played in Europe for a year after high school, but very sparingly. I guess that coach looks like a dope. Oh yeah, Jennings’ dropped 55 in a game too. Did I mention he’s a rookie? As for the NFL lets talk about Sindey Rice… an just who the hell is Sidney Rice? Well, he’s a guy that had 537 receiving yards for the first two season of his career. Enter 2009 and the guy now has more than DOUBLE his career average—875 yards, along with four touchdowns in 10 games played. That dude can ball. No wonder Vikings QB Brett Favre took a liking to him. It’s one thing for Brett Favre to throw the ball to you a lot. It’s another thing to be a 23-years-old and a future Hall of Famer’s favorite receiver on a team that he said is “the best he’s ever played on.” Jerry who? Something tells me if Minnesota can go all the way this year and keep their young nucleus intact, then when we hear the name Rice, the first thing people will think of is Sidney, not Jerry - Sidney Rice. Both Jennings and Rice are athletes you need to know.
